From a young age I’ve always been drawn to different kinds of artistically creative things. Handmade art from painting to crochet and everything in between. Never staying with one “hobby” for to long but still stuck with the materials bought that I “had to have” to be good at each hobby. That all changed when I started sewing. The minute I finished my first bag I knew this is what I’m meant to pursue.

Picking out each piece of material with matching hardware to accent the exterior just right is like magic!

Bringing someone else’s idea to life and seeing the look on their face the first time they see their handmade bag is my favorite part.

I absolutely love making bags as a memorial gift for someone. From a graduation gift made out of an old school shirt or team jersey to an old tie or dress after a loved one’s passing. The overwhelming feeling of love I get when working on those , is something I cherish!

AKT is named for myself and my two kids.
